In 2002, the Familotels took part in a voluntary assessment of child-friendliness carried out by RWTÜV according to the criteria laid down by the German child protection society, the Kinderschutzbund. Nineteen Familotels have already been given the thumbs-up. All Familotels will be assessed by the end of 2003.

Dear Children, There are lots of new friends waiting here for you - and we are, too! Come and see our wonderful playrooms, which have funny names such as "Zwergerlclub" ("Tots' Club"), "Wolke Nr. 7" ("Cloud number 7"), and "Purzelbaum" ("Somersault"), to name but a few. And there are nice people here who will play, sing and dance with you, draw super pictures, make wonderful things, tell you stories - and look after you.

How would you like to dress up as a Red Indian, or have your face painted so you look like a pussy cat? You see - there's lots here for you to do. Would you like to visit a farm and watch the farmer milk the cows and feed the calves? You can feed the hens, ducks and guinea pigs yourselves - and the pony, too, but you need to give it a good brushing before you can ride it across the meadows. .

Every Familotel has a different programme for children, so do ask if there's something you would particularly like to do.
