Borchard's Rookhus Hotel information

Family holiday like never before: at the Familotel Borchard´s Rookhus.

Welcome to the land of 1,000 lakes: the Mecklenburg Lake District, in the heart of the Müritz National Park, is not just famous for its unique landscape and its rare wild animals and birds of prey — it is also a popular holiday destination. No wonder really, as you can find peace and relaxation here, together with a whole heap of recreational fun. For example, as the guest of the child-friendly Familotel Borchard's Rookhus am See …

Possibilities for all-round enthusiasm.

It really is a beautiful part of the world where you will find the Familotel Rookhus. Secluded, but not isolated, it is situated on the picturesque bank of the Labussee lake. Holidaymakers who arrive here have come to the destination of their holiday dreams. Our younger guests would prefer to postpone unpacking until ... whenever really! At the end of the day, the petting zoo, with its ponies, donkeys, lamas, goats, bantams, etc. needs to be looked at RIGHT NOW. And then straight to the big playground. Or maybe first to the Rookhus knight’s castle with the suspension bridge and real pirate flag? While „oldies“ might want to look for a quiet place to sit — the agenda for the „littlies“ is now non-stop fun and games. Of course, always under the watchful eye of our childcare providers.

If you „capture“ your little bundle of joy again on the 20,000 square metre outdoor complex of the Kinderhotel on the Baltic Sea, then you can explore the terrain together. And there is much to discover. The show-stopper: the newly opened „Badehus“ at the Familotel Rookhus, which invites you to have some brilliant fun in the water with its tempered swimming pool, a fantastic slide and a separate baby pool. Of course, the modern indoor pool also offers swimming lessons and baby swimming. And if you would prefer to enjoy your bathing in the open air, then you can in the clean Labussee lake with its thrilling trampoline bathing island.

Activities that you need to actively experience.

The central location of the Familotel Borchard's Rookhus makes it possible for you to take some fantastic excursions. Schwerin and Berlin are brilliant for an extended day trip — and you must make sure you have a day on the Baltic Sea. Already out of breath? It gets better! For example, with a canoe or boat trip, surfing, on foot or by bike on one of the countless hiking trails, and, and, and ... Any more? No problem! At the nearby riding centre of Borchard Rookhus in Wesenberg, there are lots of ponies and horses waiting for their next hack.

In the cold season, a multitude of winter sports beckon. The Winter Arena of the Familotel Borchard's Rookhus am See is one of a kind in the north of Germany. There is a tobogganing track for plastic sledges here and an exciting ski carousel, a ski lift and a ski school for our young and old guests. Ski instructor Alex provides a special service. He provides parents with detailed information about the „piste abilities“ of their offspring — and will tell you whether the whole ski adventure might be better to wait another year or not.

By the way: from a night-time temperature of -5°C, the Mecklenburg Lake District is considered snow-sure. But if the white backdrop fails to materialise, there’s still nothing to get in the way of the ice-cold fun. The powerful snow cannon of the Familotel Rookhus brings supplies.

Relaxation that you’re happy to indulge in.

You can enjoy veritably relaxing moments at „Amy’s Wohlfühlvilla“ after a short walk. Here, you can switch off in the Finnish sauna or steam bath with colourful starry ceiling — or leave the dull reality of everyday life behind you with a few laps of the indoor pool. Afterwards, have a feel-good spa treatment in the panoramic room with its beautiful lake view. By the way: if parents want to be undisturbed, they can find the necessary freedom in the small log cabin sauna of the Familotel Rookhus — with direct access to the lake.

Particularly great: with up to 51 hours of childcare, the Kinderhotel on the Baltic Sea ensures that parental leave really remains parental leave. Because while your little ones are being taught more about the flora and fauna of the Mecklenburg Lake District by our trained childcare providers — or transforming into inquisitive researchers and adventurous pirates, there’s lots of time for you to spend as a couple. Because it’s nice to leave all your cares behind now and then.

Sleep that stays all-round restful.

The outlook is bright for anyone looking for relaxing nights at the Familotel Rookhus. Simply the fact that guests are not disturbed by loud traffic promises the sweetest of dreams. Together with the lovingly furnished rooms of the 4-star hotel.

Important for parents: at the Kinderhotel on the Baltic Sea, the safety of our little guests is a priority. For this reason, socket covers, barriers and other protective measures come as standard at the hotel. This is also certified by the TÜV Nord – with its „OK für Kids“ seal.

Delicacies that you want to enjoy.

In terms of gastronomy, all the guests of the Familotel Borchard's Rookhus am See will enjoy themselves. The heart of this is the „Rookhus Country Kitchen“, where you can start the day with a rustic healthy breakfast, with lots of delicious delicacies. And we also cater for our guests’ physical well-being at lunchtime and in the afternoon. The highlight of the evening is the popular „front cooking“, where you can see how your favourite meal is prepared.

A treat for the whole family is a visit to the „Storchennest“ restaurant, which allows family mealtimes to be an easy-going delight with its extremely child-friendly equipment. Because: things can go wrong here sometimes. And when you can’t keep the little ones in their seats any longer, they can retire to the play area of the restaurant. If you prefer a more sophisticated ambiance, then you’ll find it in the „Nikolaus“ restaurant, where you can indulge in the culinary delights and also look out over the dream-like view of the Labussee.
